Be still and know that I am God.Something I've noticed through the years is that there is an absolute stillness in icons. Most art, your imagination wanders, and you start to fill in the sounds of the image, but not so with iconography. With iconography, there is a reverent stillness in the image, allowing for prayer and inner reflection.
